This Privacy Policy explains how WA-Connect ("we", "our", "the application") collects, uses, stores, and protects information processed through our messaging system, including messages exchanged via the WhatsApp Business Platform provided by Meta.

By using WA-Connect, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

2. Information We Process

WA-Connect processes message-related data only to provide messaging functionality. Depending on the integration and features used, data processed may include:

  • Phone numbers and WhatsApp identifiers
  • Message content (text) and media metadata (e.g., file type, size, timestamps)
  • Message delivery status information (sent, delivered, read) and timestamps
  • Technical identifiers required for routing, authentication, and platform operations
  • Basic logs necessary for troubleshooting and security

WA-Connect does not intentionally collect sensitive personal data. If users send sensitive information through WhatsApp, it is processed only to provide the requested messaging services.

3. Purpose of Data Processing

We process data strictly to:

  • Send and receive messages via the WhatsApp Business Platform
  • Deliver messages requested by our users and connected systems
  • Maintain message status, delivery confirmations, and operational logs
  • Ensure security, reliability, abuse prevention, and incident investigation
  • Comply with legal and regulatory obligations applicable in Brazil

WA-Connect does not sell, rent, or use message data for advertising, profiling, or unrelated marketing.

4. Message Content and Confidentiality

  • Message content is processed only for message delivery and related operational needs.
  • Messages are not read or analyzed for marketing purposes.
  • Access to message data is restricted to authorized systems and personnel on a need-to-know basis.

5. Data Storage and Retention

WA-Connect may store data temporarily to support processing, delivery confirmation, debugging, fraud prevention, and system integrity.

  • Message content may be stored for the minimum time needed for delivery, retries, and status tracking.
  • Metadata and logs may be retained longer to meet compliance, auditing, security, and operational needs.
  • Where applicable, deletion requests will be handled in accordance with Brazilian law (LGPD) and platform constraints.

6. Data Sharing

We share data only when necessary to operate the service, including with:

  • Meta Platforms, Inc. / WhatsApp Business Platform for message delivery and platform operations.
  • Infrastructure providers used to host and operate WA-Connect (e.g., hosting, databases, monitoring).

We do not share data with third parties for advertising or unrelated commercial purposes.

7. Security Measures

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures appropriate to the risk, such as:

  • Access controls and least-privilege permissions
  • Secure infrastructure and network protections
  • Encryption in transit where applicable
  • Monitoring and logging for suspicious activity
  • Operational safeguards to prevent unauthorized access

No system can guarantee absolute security. If a security incident occurs, we will take reasonable steps to investigate and mitigate impact, and comply with applicable legal notification requirements.

In Brazil, personal data processing may rely on one or more legal bases under the LGPD, including performance of a contract, legitimate interests, compliance with legal obligations, and consent where applicable.
